Leighton Properties is committed to creating a space that welcomes holiday makers and is able to be enjoyed and used by the local Kingscliff community.

The proposed resort development will contribute significant long term economic benefits to the Kingscliff community by way of employment opportunities, tourism income and new community facilities. The environment will benefit too thanks to plans for long term rehabilitation, maintenance and revegetation of the Lot 490 Plan of Management land. 

The proposed development is anticipated to enhance the current enjoyment of Lot 490 for locals through the provision of community facilities such as:

  • revegetation and rehabilitation;
  • beach access paths and access to Cudgen Creek via a floathing pontoon;
  • public amenities, picnic shelters and a children's playground;
  • bike and pedestrian trails with dedicated bike racks;
  • outdoor fitness facilities and recreational courts;
  • an interpretive/multi-purpose space;
  • public art and signage; and
  • 82 public carparks.

 The Community Facilities Plan describes the proposed public amenities and facilities to be created as part of the resort development.

Improved access to beach and creek is also a key aspect of the resort with a continuous pedestrian and bicycle pathway network included and boardwalks and pathways positioned to maximise the environmental experience for guests and visitors while preserving sensitive environmental zones.
